Chardonnay

Chardonnay is a classic white wine grapes variety and probably one of the most popular. The origin of the grape is believed to have been in the Burgundy region of France. The wine produced has less acidity and can need slightly cooler weather conditions to grow. The wine made from this grape tends to have fruity flavors of peach, melon, etc. Also as the wine is aged in oak, it also has an oaky flavor. It can also pick vanilla flavor if aged in oak barrels. Chardonnay is an important constituent of many Champagnes and sparkling wines all over the world. Being easy to grow, the grape is extensively cultivated in almost all wine producing countries.
