Gewurztraminer

Gewurztraminer is an aromatic grape variety of wine which is best grown in cooler regions. Originated in Germany, the word Gewurz literally means spicy in German language. The grape is pinkish and reddish in color but it is a white wine grape. It has a floral fragrance and a spicy flavor as its name suggests. Due to its aromatic flavor, the wine prepared from Gewurztraminer makes it one of the only few wines that goes well with the Asian cuisine. The grapes can also be made into a delicious late harvest dessert wine. Apart from Germany, Gewurztraminer grapes are also cultivated in California, Italy, Australia and Canada.
