1945 Chateau Mouton Rothschild Jeroboam

A six magnum case of Jeroboam Chateau Mouton Rothschild 1945 was sold for a staggering $345,000 ($57,500 for a single bottle) to an unknown bidder in 2006, taking it to the list of most expensive wines. The wine is a rare vintage wine which enjoys the fame as it comes from the cellar of the castle. The bottles carry a ‘V’ sign that represents victory and end of World War II.

Even after fifty years the wine retains its exuberant youthfulness, making it one of the most sought out wine of the 20th century. The soul of the wine is the juicy ripe fruit extract and rich aromas. It is said that a single drop of the wine is equivalent to the price of diamonds. Wine lovers across the world have given a 100% score to the wine for its extraordinary taste. The Chateau Mouton Rothschild 1945 was also the top wine amongst 100, in a poll by a leading wine magazine, on ‘wines to try before you die’.

The Chateau Mouton Rothschild is premium wine estate in Medoc, France. It was the sole Chateau elevated to the status of ‘First growth’ or Premier Cru. The winery grew to fame after Baron Philippe de Rothschild took over the reign in 1922. The vintage of 1945 was also one of his creations.
