1992 Screaming Eagle

The 1992 Screaming Eagle is one of the best and most expensive wines available today. In the year 2008 at the Auction Napa Valley, a charity event, six bottles of Screaming Eagles were sold for a whopping $500,000 which goes around to $80,000 for a single bottle! Chaise Bailey, an executive of Cisco systems was the lucky man to purchase the wine in that auction.

This exquisite Cabernet Sauvignon vintage is opaque purple in color and has a titillating blackcurrant and a delicate toasty oak flavor. The wine is unfiltered and un-fined and is aged in 60% new oak. Apart from the exotic flavors, the wine also unfolds some intense, fruity, full bodied, creamy and rich essences which linger in the mouth. The juicy extracts of fruits are the major ingredients of the wine which makes the wine so appealing.

The Screaming Eagle Winery and Vineyard, one of the smallest wineries at Napa Valley, was owned by Jean Phillips and Tony Bowden. With the help of winemakers Heidi Barrett and Gustav Dalla Valle, the debut vintage of the operation became the legendary 1992 Screaming Eagle. The winery which is famous for producing the California cult wines (wines which garner a huge price) was sold to Stanley Kroenke and Charles Banks in 2006.

The 1992 Screaming Eagle has become a rage among wine lovers. It is one of the most sought after wines by the collectors and wine lovers, not only for consuming but also as an investment.
