Chenin Blanc

Chenin Blanc is a very popular white wine grape variety planted primarily in the Loire valley (popularly known as Vouvary) of France. The grape produces wine that is aromatic, fruity and has high acid levels. It is used to produce all kind of white wines from sparkling to dessert. The wine also ages well due to the high level of acidity. The grape is planted widely in Europe and all the New World Wine regions (USA, Canada, Argentina, South Africa, Chile, Australia, New Zealand and Mexico). It is also the most extensively planted grape in South Africa where it is known as Steen. Chenin Blanc is also called as Pineau de la Loire.
Cabernet Franc

Cabernet Franc is one of the premier red wine grape varieties in the world. It was planted in the Loire valley of France and is called as the “parent” of Cabernet Sauvignon grape. The wine produced from this grape has hints of raspberries and black currants and is lighter than the Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine also has a pale red color. The grape is used in blending Bordeaux wines to add aroma and acidity to the wine. It also gives finesse and a peppery fragrance to the blends. It is produced in France, Italy, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, etc.
Chardonnay

Chardonnay is a classic white wine grapes variety and probably one of the most popular. The origin of the grape is believed to have been in the Burgundy region of France. The wine produced has less acidity and can need slightly cooler weather conditions to grow. The wine made from this grape tends to have fruity flavors of peach, melon, etc. Also as the wine is aged in oak, it also has an oaky flavor. It can also pick vanilla flavor if aged in oak barrels. Chardonnay is an important constituent of many Champagnes and sparkling wines all over the world. Being easy to grow, the grape is extensively cultivated in almost all wine producing countries.

Sparkling wine is a wine containing high level of carbon- dioxide making it fizzy. Champagne is an excellent beverage which is popularly celebrated of all sparkling wines. Champagne is a sparkling wine prepared solely or exclusively within the Champagne region of France, from which it acquired its name. One must make a note that all sparkling wines are not champagne but all champagnes are sparkling wines.
There are four important types of sparkling wine production. The first is the Metodo Italiano- Charmat method, in which the wines undergo a secondary fermentation in vast tanks, and then are bottled under pressure. This method is extensively used across the globe to produce delicate and light sparkling wines.
Dessert Wine-Enjoy after meal

Dessert wines are also known as pudding wines and as the name suggests it is served with the dessert or pudding after the dinner. Dessert wines are sweet wines that become a part of dessert menu. It is also referred as a wine for a sweet tooth. Dessert wines are served after the dinner is over, typically with bakery sweets or fruit. Dessert wines are sweet wines which provide refreshment.
Dessert wines have high concentration of sugar as well as alcohol; yet the alcohol is prepared from sugar. Winemakers know various ways to raise sugar content in the final wine. The various methods are: - adding sugar before and after the fermentation process, removing water to concentrate the sugar etc.
